This is by far my favorite job that I have done from home. The only problem is that it is not year round. These companies below hire people to work from home to help grade the essay portions or writing portions of standardized tests. The portion of the test that you are grading is scanned by the company into the system. Once you are hired by one of the companies you will be notified when a testing period is coming up. Most standardized tests are given towards the end of the school year so the spring and beginning of summer are usually pretty busy. Once you know a testing period is coming up you can go in and schedule yourself for however many hours you want. They usually require you to sign up for shifts in blocks of a few hours or so but besides that you can do as little or as much as you would like. You don't have to be on the phone so you don't have to worry about the kids running around making lots of noise. Some of the tests you are grading high school students writing an essay and some of them you are grading an elementary students spelling. These companies score for many different types of standardized tests from elementary school all the way through college. I am pretty sure that they require that all scorers have a college degree but it does not matter what the degree is in. For a few of the standardized tests they do require that you have your teaching certificate.
