From the Pampered Chef website, here is what the business is about:

"As the premier direct seller of essential kitchen tools and part of the Berkshire Hathaway family of businesses, The Pampered Chef® and its sales force of Independent Pampered Chef® Consultants have been helping families prepare quick, delicious meals since 1980.  Currently, we are offering recipes for just about $2 per serving!

We believe that multipurpose tools are the cornerstone of an efficient kitchen, and we're committed to developing timesaving tools, tips and recipes that enhance shared mealtime and suit busy lifestyles. Our products are designed to be used in more than one way, so kitchens are no longer cluttered with rarely used utensils.
Our VisionAt The Pampered Chef®, we have a vision that someday families all around the world will know the joy and rewards of gathering together in the tradition of family mealtimes. To help make this vision a reality, we specialize in high-quality tools that make cooking quick, easy and fun.
Our Mission
We are committed to providing opportunities for individuals to develop their God-given talents and skills to their fullest potential for the benefit of themselves, their families, our customers and the company.
We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of family life by providing quality kitchen products supported by service and information for our Consultants and customers.
Our History
For more than 20 years, The Pampered Chef® has been helping to gather families around the table for quick, delicious meals that are as much fun to prepare as they are to eat. The business was launched in 1980 by company Founder and Chairman, Doris Christopher — an educator, home economist and mother who saw the need for professional-quality kitchen tools in the everyday kitchen.
Capitalizing on her knowledge of food preparation techniques and her natural talent for teaching, Christopher amassed an inventory of what she considered to be the essential home kitchen tools, promoted them under The Pampered Chef® name and began showcasing them at in-home cooking demonstrations called Cooking Shows."

Work at Home Businesses

This blog has been dedicated to helping Moms find a work from home "job". This is what my past experience has been in but I often get questions regarding the many work from home businesses out there. As with a work from home job, you need to watch for scams but there are many legitimate companies out there. A work from home business will usually require some kind of investment on your part to get it up and running. This does not mean it is a scam like we often mention when looking for a work from home job. Businesses of any kind require some sort of fees to get started so keep this in mind if you decide to go this direction. Stick with companies you are familiar with and that you honestly feel have a product you are willing to recommend and sell to others. Because so many Moms do get into direct sales as a work-from-home business I have decided to feature one on here every once in a while. It will very specifically state that it is a business when I am posting so that it will not be confused with the jobs I post. These business postings will also be listed under the Work-at-Home Business heading on my blog as well.
If you are a work-from-home Mom that runs a direct sales business that you would like to be featured, please contact me at abcforbes2(at)comcast.net and replace the at with the @ symbol. Moms out there interested in finding out more information regarding working with each company should contact the person mentioned in each posting. For all you other Moms out there, if you are not interested in working with the business, feel free to at least shop with them and support a Mom working from home! Thanks!
