Work at Home Transcribing in the US and UK

Focus Forward is a company that conducts online panel research, transcribes and handles national recruitment for 3rd party companies. They are currently hiring transcribers. Here are the details of the transcribing position.
We will need you to take a short test before further consideration to make sure you are qualified to fill the available position. Please review all of the information below, as this contains important information regarding our transcribing processes and procedures.

You should be a reasonably fast typist, e.g. minimum 50 words per minute. If you are not, you will find transcribing to be very frustrating and time consuming. Your speed will increase with experience and on average a 15 minute file takes about an hour to transcribe.

All applicants must have a home computer with a high speed Internet connection and Microsoft Word. You are responsible for maintaining your computer. We do not reimburse typists for work lost due to computer problems. You are not required to have, or purchase, any equipment though a foot pedal will make transcribing a considerably easier process. You can purchase a foot pedal on the Express Scribe website: http://www.nch.com.au/scribe/

You may choose for yourself which hours of the day you work, but you need to be able to commit to at least 4 hours of sound per week and meet our deadlines specified in each assignment email. If hired, we provide you with an online scheduling tool and it is your responsibility to update your availability.

You must have sufficient self-discipline to work from home and meet deadlines. Transcribing for Focus Forward is a serious job that requires concentration and commitment. We are unable to keep transcribers on board who cannot meet our deadlines.

*Please note, all applicants must be US or UK based.
