Expertise is required in international and domestic reservations with a key focus on destination, air, car, & hotel knowledge. Our Work At Home Travel Counselors/Travel Agents must have a passion to serve their clients and surpass client expectations.
This position requires a minimum of 3 years recent experience selling all areas of travel.
Domestic and international destination knowledge with a focus on air, car and hotel are key areas of required expertise.
Computer reservations experience required – SABRE is preferred.
Experience in Travel and Call Center operations desired.
The ability to work under pressure and effectively multi-task while maintaining professional rapport with customers is essential.
Candidate must possess strong consultative selling skills, decisive and successful problem solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, in addition to strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
The ability to use the Internet effectively to service customer needs and troubleshoot basic computer problems is a must.
The candidate must be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative with a strong commitment to personal goals, objectives, and work ethnic.
The ability to work in a changing environment is essential as this position requires flexibility to work various shifts as determined by customer call volumes and business needs.
Candidates must be available to work between the hours of 8:00am – 2:00am ET, Monday – Sunday (7 days / week). Hours of operation may change due to business need.

The following are some of the requirements of the Work at Home Program. By applying for this position you are confirming and agreeing that your home will comply with the following. An additional list will be provided at time of interview.
ACCESS TO YOUR HOME/WORK SPACE:
• You will provide American Express or their representative’s access to your home to conduct an audit of your work space for WAH compliance standards through the year.
WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT:
• All electrical equipment is free of recognized hazards that would cause physical harm (frayed wires, bare conductors, loose wires, flexible wires running through walls, exposed wires to the ceiling).
• Your home’s electrical system will permit the grounding of electrical equipment. Use 3 wire circuit analyzer provided to test all outlets that will be used for the home office.
• You have property and casualty insurance on the home. If not, you will be asked to provide the name of the party that maintains insurance.
WORK AREA:
• Minimum electrical requirements: Two 15-amp electrical, 110 volts, three prong duplex outlets (a total of four outlets) on their own circuit breaker.
• Adequate room for a home office. You will need to provide specific details including size and location of room.
COMPUTER WORKSTATION:
American Express will install high speed internet and phone service in the homes of virtual employees. Applicants homes must be compatible to work in conjunction with American Express Technological Processes. (Cable Broadband Services REQUIRED- wireless, satellite services does not meet Amex specifications therefore not eligible)
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
