12 Ways to Make Money From Home With Amazon

By Alaina Forbes Leave a Comment

Every mom I know loves Amazon. Am I right? But did you know there are many different ways you can make money from home with Amazon? Check out our list of ideas on how you can use Amazon to make some extra cash.

make money from home with Amazon

Find a Flexible Job with Amazon Flex

-This position is technically not a work from home position but it offers a lot of flexibility if you are a stay at home mom who just wants to work evenings or someone who needs a little extra income on the side. Basically this is a delivery position where you use your own vehicle and an app on your phone. Basically it is the package delivery version of Uber. It is for their new Amazon Prime Now service where customers can get products delivered within hours. When you make yourself available you can choose between 2, 4, or 8 hour shifts. You get to be your own boss and work as much or as little as you would like, when you would like. Pay is between $18-$25 an hour. Visit Amazon Flex to get started.

Work from Home with Amazon Customer Service

Amazon hires fairly regularly for work at home customer service positions. Most positions are part time, some are nights and weekends only for those looking for a second job. You must have your own computer that meets their requirements, have a high school diploma, and be fluent in English. Pay generally starts around $10 per hour. Apply at Amazon's job site.

Make Money from Home with Amazon FBA

Several years ago I used to buy up bargain toys or whatever the popular toys were that year and sell them on Amazon. Eventually I moved on to other money making opportunities. Not because I wasn't making much but mostly because of the hassle of storing items and then shipping them, etc. Amazon FBA is the answer to that. FBA stands for Fulfillment by Amazon. You store your products in Amazon fulfillment centers and when it sells they take care of the packing and shipping. SO much easier than the way I did it. There are people out there making tons of money doing this, not just a little extra side cash. Take The Selling Family who over the last five years has sold over a million dollars worth of products on Amazon. They have great information about it on their blog along with some free downloads and several training courses. Check out The Selling Family resources here.

Earn Money While You Sleep With Amazon Merch

Amazon Merch is an amazing way to make anywhere from a little extra cash to making it into a complete business. I just got accepted a couple months ago and I am loving it! Basically you design T-shirts, upload your designs, and Amazon sells them for you. The great thing about it is there is no inventory, nothing you have to ship, and no up-front costs to you. You don't need to be an expert in graphic design by any means of the imagination, some of the best selling shirts are just text on the shirt. You are getting access to a site that millions of people use and your merchandise is being advertised on there for nothing. When someone buys your shirt you receive a royalty which currently is a little less than half the cost of the shirt. Right now because of demand you have to apply to the waitlist for the program but while you are waiting to be accepted make sure you come up with some designs so you will be ready to go. Once accepted you will want to upload 2 designs a day until you reach your maximum which is usually 10 designs starting out. If your designs sell well then they will increase how many designs you can upload so be ready to impress. One of the great things about Amazon Merch is once you get some good designs up and they take off selling you can be earning money around the clock for just a little time put into designing the shirt, this means you can even earn money while you sleep. If you want to learn more be sure to check out the two Merch experts Chris Green and Jacob Topping. Both of these guys are talking from experience and are making a lot of money. Chris Green has a great website and has written a very helpful book Merch Life: An Introduction to Using Merch By Amazon to Design Shirts and Make Money. Jacob Topping covers Merch in detail but also talks about a lot of other print on demand sites where you can make money doing the same thing. His new book is Merch and the World of Print on Demand.

Earn Money From Home Sharing Your Favorite Products with Amazon Affiliate

For those of you not familiar with the term affiliate, it basically means you help someone else sell their stuff and receive a commission for it. Everybody loves Amazon therefore being an affiliate for Amazon is not that hard. If you have a website or blog you can include links to Amazon products in your articles that are relevant to the content. You can also share products across your social media platforms. If you don't have a website or blog you can still share products you love with your friends and family on social media. Everyone loves recommendations when they are making a purchase and I always love finding new products that are someone else's favorites. Sign up at Amazon Affiliate.

Sell Products Online With Amazon Sellers Central

If you have a great product or a up-and-running business then you can add your products to Amazon and reach millions of people. Or maybe you just have some individual items to sell. Either way you can sign up through Amazon to sell your products paying either an individual listing fee of $.99 per item sold or $39.99 a month for unlimited items. Amazon will notify you when the item sells and you can ship it directly to the customer. Sign up to be an Amazon Seller.

Earn Extra Cash From Home With Amazon Mechanical Turk

Amazon MTurk is one of many short-task websites where users can earn money completing relatively short tasks. There is a learning curve to the program learning what tasks are easy for your skill set and worth the time and which ones are a waste of time but if you get good at a specific niche of tasks you can usually earn some quick case when you need it without the hassle of the commitment of a work from home job. Each task will have an assigned pay so you know ahead of time what to expect. Tasks range from research to editing and everything in between. Make extra cash with Amazon MTurk.

Get Published with Kindle Direct Publishing

Now before you think, “that's only for real authors” let me tell you that there are plenty of real authors who choose to self-publish on Amazon but there are also a lot of people who have never written much of anything at all that publish on there as well. If you are an expert in a certain area and have something to say, publishing an e-book on Amazon is really pretty simple. Many bloggers go this route and write on the topic in their niche. Ebooks do not have to be very long and you just price it accordingly. It is free to publish an ebook on Amazon and then you receive up to 70% royalties when someone purchases your book. Even if you sell an ebook for $3.99 and manage to sell quite a few it will add up fast!

Make Money with Amazon Native Shopping Ads

These are ads that Amazon runs on your blog or website so it is a great option for those of you who already have a blog. If you don't have a blog and are thinking of starting one be sure to read. If you are familiar with Google Adsense or other ad networks Amazon Native Ads work the same way except advertising amazon products that would be relevant to each of your website visitors. Usually you will earn around 4% of the total purchase each customer makes that is directed to Amazon via your website. Amazon does run programs like this month however where you can earn as much as 12%. If you are already an Amazon affiliate you can get started right away otherwise you will need to apply to that program. Sign up at Amazon Affiliates.

Sell Handmade Items at Handmade at Amazon

This is Amazon's version of Etsy. All items must be handmade and fit into one of these categories; Jewelry, Home products (Art, Baby Bedding, Bath, Bedding, Furniture, Home Décor, Kitchen & Dining, Lighting, Patio, Lawn & Garden, Storage & Organization), Beauty & Personal Care, Pet Supply, Party Supplies, Stationery, Accessories, Baby, Sporting Goods, and Toys & Games. The fees sometimes change but as of right now, Amazon keeps 15% as their fee on items you sell.

Find Seasonal Work with Amazon's Camperforce

This technically isn't a work from home position but I thought I would mention it as it is one many people have not heard of and it offers the flexibility some telecommuters are looking for. There are three Amazon distribution centers in the country that hire RV'ers to work manual labor around the busy holiday season. The season starts sometime in September and runs through December 23rd. Last year pay ranged from $10.75 to $11.50 per hour. All campground costs for your RV (electric, water, sewer, and honey wagon services where sewer hook ups aren’t provided) are billed directly to Amazon during your employment so it is basically free housing during this time period.

Earn Cash With Amazon Trade-In

Although you do not get paid in case, you can earn Amazon gift cards (which is as good as cash in my book) using their trade-in program. There are thousands of eligible items. The trade-in page will even show you past items you have purchased on Amazon and their trade-in value. Trade-in items may take up to 10 business days to arrive before they are processed. Once Amazon receives your item they will do an appraisal and send you an email within 2 days to let you know if it has been accepted.

For other positions similar to this you can try FlexJobs. Every job listing is hand screened and 100% verified.

This post may contain affiliate links but I only share work from home information I believe valuable to my readers.
