Make Money With Amazon FBA
We have been learning a lot lately about many different ways you can make money from home with Amazon but did you know you can make money with Amazon FBA?
Several years ago I used to buy up bargain toys or whatever the popular toys were that year for the holidays and sell them on Amazon. Eventually I moved on to other money making opportunities not because I wasn’t making much but mostly because of the hassle of storing items and then shipping them. Amazon FBA is the answer to that.
Make Money With Amazon: What is Amazon FBA?
FBA stands for Fulfillment by Amazon. This means you store your products in Amazon fulfillment centers and when it sells they take care of the packing and shipping. SO much easier than the way I did it.
There are people out there making tons of money doing this, not just a little extra side cash. Some of the benefits of selling through Amazon FBA are that your customers get access to free Prime shipping and Amazon’s customer service. Amazon charges you for storage space and any fulfilled orders and the cost of shipping is included in your fees as a seller.
How Do I Get Started?

You start by setting up an Amazon selling account or if you already have a selling account you will need to add FBA to it. You then add your products that you want to sell and then ship those items to an Amazon fulfillment center.
When an order is placed Amazon fulfills the order, ships it on your behalf, and if needed provides customer service accordingly. You can read more about these steps here. It is best to do some research ahead of time. If you have an idea of a product you would like to sell you need to see how many people are already selling it on Amazon and how much they are selling it for.
If the market is oversaturated or if you just won’t be able to offer the product at a competitive price compared to those already on Amazon then it probably isn’t a good niche. You also want to find a product that is selling really well. You can gauge this by checking how many reviews the products in that niche have. You can also check the best selling rank that is included in every Amazon listing like the one below.

The lower the number in the best sellers rank the more that product is selling. Once you find a product that is selling a lot and a market that is not oversaturated then you need to consider where you are going to get your product from.
There are a lot of options. Many people find a local supplier or some people use websites like Alibaba You can shop around different suppliers to find the best price. Once you have an actual product you can start making your listing in your Amazon FBA account.
If you are going to be selling a product that is already packaged and branded then you don’t have to worry about getting UPC codes or packaging. If you are creating your own product of the things it will ask you for when completing this information is a UPC code. One place many people use to get these is GS1. You can send your barcode to your supplier and they will add it to your product for you.
If you are going to a local retailer to find products to sell through Amazon FBA then download the Amazon scanning app onto your phone. This allows you to scan a product while you are in the store. This makes it so much easier because the app will tell you the lowest price that product is selling for on Amazon and you can enter the cost of the product and find out with your fees how much profit you could make selling that particular product.
This saves so much time and research and you can decide right then and there if it is a good buy or not. If you ever buy a product on Amazon and it is listed as sold by and then a name of a company but says fulfilled by Amazon then these are people like you selling through Amazon FBA .
When a customer is looking for a product to buy because it is shipped from Amazon using Amazon Prime they don’t care who it is that is actually selling the product.
